Autumn layers

r- Fall is my favourite time of year for fashion. I love that I get to layer various pieces of clothing and cardigans are the perfect way to do that. I went for a comfy/casual look with this outfit. I wore my striped boyfriend cardigan with large buttons over a black tank and leggings. I added my over the knee brown slouch boots for a little extra comfort..and just like that I am ready for the fall!
m- Cardigans are a quick and easy option to bring your summer wardrobe into fall. This slouchy, orange cardigan suits my off-work attitude and paired with chambray it provides some contrast to an otherwise predictable outfit. The camo pants are rock star skinnies and fit a variety of shapes and sizes although, beware the sizing - I usually wear a size 4 and had to go up 2 sizes to insure breathing and the ability to bend my legs.

Autumn stripes

r-  This striped dress with the pockets just seems so sweet. When the fall weather gets a bit too crisp, you can always wear tights which makes the nude pumps pop a little more.
m- I love hoodies and soft fabrics and this sweater is comfy and cozy without being a sweatshirt. I found on line on a rainy day and made quick impulse purchase. It arrived two days later and I can't stop wearing it!

20-40-60

Welcome K!

We are so excited to have k join us for a 60 something perspective. She demonstrates that style and trends are for every age. We are looking forward to seeing what she puts together on a monthly basis.

r-I found this look on Pinterest and thought I would try it on for myself. These black skinny jeans are so comfortable and fit my short stature perfectly. I didn't want it to look too drab so I thought I would wear my turquoise statement necklace. Too add a little more colour I used my cognac ankle boots to tie everything together.

m -  These skinnies are the perfect fabric and stretch and fit perfectly - no tailoring required! The black is steadfast and does not fade in the wash. A good pair of jeans is hard to find, so if you find some, buy two. This simple blouse is a workhorse in my wardrobe. It is slightly sheer and the pocket placement is perfect. Leopard belt and shoes (also wardrobe staples) complete the look and can take you anywhere.

k- now that the cooler weather is upon us, I like to layer my clothes. I like the contrast of wearing black skinny leg denim pants with a striped shirt, primary colour blazer and a printed scarf. Layering with patterns gives me more choices to mix and match my wardrobe, however, the colours on the patterns need to flow. The blue and taupe colour in the scarf picks up the blue stripes (originally, I thought were black stripes) in the shirt and taupe boots. A taupe or black purse for an accessory. Suede black or blue heels shoes would add a more formal look.

Houndstooth

r- M was the one that convinced me to try this blazer on. I have never owned a houndstooth pattern anything before but this is so cute! Long layered necklace, boyfriend jeans and black pumps...and your ready to run errands or a date night..so versatile.
m- I thought that I was going to love this skirt when I purchased it. It is the perfect midi length and hit exactly where all of the magazines said that it should (mid calf) and the houndstooth is a classic pattern. Initially, it was paired with black and when reviewing the photos, I quickly changed my mind about that - it really aged me. Cute on someone's R's age, but for me, it needed some fun and colour added. I went on line for inspiration and attempted to replicate a look with Canadian options.

Blazers Part 2

r- I have a confession...I am still not willing to give up my romper obsession even though the weather is getting cooler outside. I didn't want it to feel too summery so I thought it would look perfect with my striped blazer. I know you might be getting sick of the nude pumps...but they go with everything!

m- White blazer, dark jeans, simple white necklace. Simple formula for instant polish. Once again, it is all about these jeans. They have the perfect amount of stretch, colour stay and the price was right -$30.

moto jackets

r- I am completely obsessed with this moto jacket! I found it downtown where my parents live and couldn't believe my luck..it was a really great steal! It fits well and is very comfortable. I usually wear it with my favourite pair of jeans but I thought it would be nice to show what it looks like with a cream coloured dress. Still rocking the pumps!
m-I received my moto jacket in the mail and I could not have been happier. It has a quilted, canvas look and the I love the muted gray for fall. The weather has been jacket worthy, so I have been trying to make it feel like summer with some coral and laid back, boyfriend jeans. As far as trends go, the moto jacket continues for another season.
